Friday 16th September 2005, Dublin -- Nuclear power is being cynically and cleverly touted as the answer to catastrophic climate change. But as a response it is too slow, too expensive, too limited and has inherent dangers of its own. In an age of terrorist threat it is more of a security risk than a solution.
To answer the nuclear industry offensive Grian and no2nukes.com will host a briefing, Nuclear Power NO Solution to Climate Change, on Friday 23rd September from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm in the European Parliament offices in Molesworth Street, Dublin 2.
The Briefing will focus on Climate Change Impacts, Science and Policy and will examine how nuclear power actually undermines the true solutions - energy efficiency and renewables.
Speakers will be Pat Finnegan, Coordinator, Grian, John Bowler, no2nukes.com and Proinsias de Rossa MEP.
